The Indian Premier League 2025 will start on March 22 with a match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bengaluru at the Eden Gardens. KKR defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous season’s final, and the Pat Cummins team has once again assembled a strong squad.
After retaining Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, Heinrich Klaasen, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, they bought Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, and several other top performers in the mega auction.
Former Australia captain Michael Clarke has picked SRH as his favorite to win the title in the 18th season. He said their bowling will play a key role in their success, and Cummins will be a better captain than last season.
“I am going to be biased. If I pick a player based on favouritism, I will be Pat Cummins and the franchise would be Sunrisers Hyderabad. I think bowling will play a big role for them in the upcoming season,” he said.
“Their batting unit is strong and Patty as a captain would have learnt a lot from the past season. It is their bowling. They can’t afford to lose their fast bowlers due to injuries. The death bowling will be a key and Cummins will be a part of that,” he added.
